HUNDREDS of Bad Blue Boys gathered a few days before in front of Maksimir and asked to speak with the club’s managers.

Riot police waited in front of the stadium, although there was no gathering reported according to information from the Zagreb Police Department given to Index. Dinamo supporters started arriving in Maksimir around 6 PM, where they protested against the management of the club, which they call illegitimate and thieving, and they demanded the resignation of the leader of Dinamo, Zoran Mamic. Following Igor Jovicevic’s departure, Mamic declared himself a coach. It should be reminded that the Mamic Brothers are under verdict and indictment due to stealing more than 300 million kuna from the club.

After the protests, the supporters quietly cleaned the parking lot in front of the police, and then seven prominent members of the Boys were given permission to enter the club. Kresimir Antolic, the first Dinamo operative who entered the management board as the head of security of Mamic’s club, wasn’t there; Zoran Mamic and the captain Arijan Ademi stood in front of the supporters.

Will there be a boycott, or will Kek calm the situation?

We found out that the supporters asked Mamic to leave Dinamo and gave him an hour to do so; he reacted coldly and went to the first team training.

The club explained to the supporters that this isn’t a permanent solution and that Zoran only intends to be a coach only for three games.

This morning the news arrived that Matjaz Kek will take over Dinamo. He is one of the best coaches in the history of the Croatian National League and the champion of Rijeka, where he spent half a decade. Dinamo believes that it will ease the supporters’ protests while information is coming from the Boys’ circles that this probably isn’t the last protest against Mamic. After more than ten years, when the Boys started the first attack against Mamic, after which Mamic helped break up the team using various methods, the word about the boycott of the club is again being spread among the supporters.

Kresimir Antolic came out in front of the club in the parking lot and made short statements to the press about the situation in the club. He “didn’t want to talk about Kek on the parking lot,” while he said to the supporters that he was informed about their request, as well as a clear answer from Zoran Mamic, who is coaching the team for a derby against Hajduk which will take place on Sunday (9 PM)
