On the greatest day in the history of Croatian football, she overshadowed the players

NOT A SINGLE Croatian football supporter will ever forget that day last year. On that hot summer Sunday, we were all watching the World Cup with Croatia and France in the finals, but Croatia didn’t win the gold medal.

Although they all played the game of their lives, somebody else was that night’s main attraction.

With her performance after the match, the former president of Croatia Kolida Grabar-Kitarovic managed to end up in all news of the world while Croats were either delighted or cringed and sympathized with Modric, Dalic, Macron, and the rest of the crew on the pitch during the medal ceremony.

On that night, Kolinda was hugging everyone, kissing the trophy that didn’t even belong to her or the football team that she supported. Everyone was staring in wonder as she was standing in the rain while people were holding an umbrella for Vladimir Putin.

Look at the photographs.
