THE State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday reduced the sentences against two Croatian Defence Council (HVO) members but confirmed that they were responsible for war crimes committed against Bosniak POWs in a military prison in Ljubuski in 1993.
The Appeals Chamber convicted former prison warden Ivan Kraljevic to 15 months and former prison guard Stojan Odak to two and a half years, while upholding former guard Vice Bebek's 12 months' sentence, the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network said.
In the first instance, Kraljevic was given two years in prison and Odak seven.
Now they have been found guilty of inhumane treatment of Bosniak POWs, Kraljevic on command responsibility and the other two as direct participants in the abuse.
